Enrollment Procedures

Congratulations on your acceptance to APU as an exchange/study abroad student!

We also encourage you to visit the APU website and Academic Office Website to learn more about APU.

Students starting in Spring 2020
Step 1 Please make sure to read Program Guide (PDF) carefully to prepare for your trip to APU and your studies here.
Step 2

APU BUDDY Application:

Complete APU Buddy Matching Survey by January 10, 2020

Step 3

Submit Enrollment Documents (Submission Deadline: January 10, 2020)

Complete the following Enrollment Documents and send them to inbound@apu.ac.jp

Step 4

APU sends a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) to your home university (February)

Student receives a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) and applies for student visa (February - March)

Step 5

Complete the survey for “Notice of Scheduled Arrival and Request Arrival Assistance Service” (March 9, 2020)

Step 6

Prepare for Course Registration and complete Course Registration Request Form (Word)
(to be submitted to the APU Academic Office by Tuesday, March 31)

The finalized course timetable for the 2020 spring semester will be released on the Academic Office website early in March.

Step 7

Accommodation check-in: Wednesday, March 25 and Thursday, March 26

Step 8

Participate in mandatory orientation for Study Abroad/Exchange Students on Friday, March 27.

Following this orientation, you will be joining freshmen students in the APU Entrance Ceremony, other orientation sessions, a health check-up and so on.

Step 9

Register Courses and Start Classes

Times and classrooms will be included in the Course Timetable on the Academic Office website.
