The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is an international financial institution made up of 67 members (of which 48 are from the Asia and Pacific region). In envisioning a prosperous, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable Asia and the Pacific, ADB assists its members, and partners, by providing loans, technical assistance, grants, and equity investments to promote social and economic development. We are happy to announce that Konishi Ayumi-san, a special senior advisor to the president of ADB, will thus be holding special guest lectures here at APU.

“Evolution of Safeguard Policies of the Asian Development Bank: Learning on Involuntary Resettlement”

When appraising a project, a safeguard element (impact of a project on environment and local community) is the area on which ADB attaches highest emphasis. Understanding this requirement would facilitate securing a loan from ADB.
