Conclusion of a Partnership Agreement with Social Welfare Corporation Taiyo no Ie— Sharing Practical Knowledge of Diversity & Inclusion and Promoting Collaboration Toward an Inclusive Society —
Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) has concluded a partnership agreement with Social Welfare Corporation Taiyo no Ie.
The agreement aims to strengthen collaboration in the fields of education, research, and human resource development, with a particular focus on promoting Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) and providing opportunities for lifelong learning (LLL: Lifelong Learners).
Since its founding in 1965, Taiyo no Ie has been recognized as one of Japan’s leading organizations supporting employment opportunities and social participation for persons with disabilities, guided by its philosophy, “No Charity, but a Chance!” Its practices and guiding principles strongly resonate with the values of D&I upheld by APU.
The two institutions have already collaborated in various ways, including cooperation in field study courses, the dispatch of guest lecturers to classes, the joint development of D&I training programs, and collaborative research initiatives.
With the conclusion of this agreement, they plan to advance more systematic collaboration, including joint research, academic exchange, and cooperative initiatives that leverage their respective expertise and networks, as well as the development of educational programs and expanded personnel exchange.
The year 2025 marks the 60th anniversary of Taiyo no Ie and the 25th anniversary of APU’s founding. This agreement symbolizes their shared commitment to advancing collaboration toward the realization of an inclusive society.
APU will continue to translate the principles of D&I into action through partnerships with diverse organizations and contribute to building a society in which everyone can thrive.
