Message

We live in a world of change, conflicts and uncertainties. Making a difference in the lives of people and societies in the Asia Pacific Region is a daunting journey given the economic realities, political tension, growing consumption, the deterioration of our environment and natural resources, demographic trends, prevailing poverty, as well as the threats of climate change and globalization. Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University remains committed to generating knowledge and developing expertise as an active partner in the development of the Region and the world as a whole. The University is steadfast and firm in its resolve to ensure that partnerships with other like-minded organizations and institutions are established and sustained as we exist in a tangled web of inter-relationships. As an institution, we will keep attuned to the global realities and concerns in order to adequately and effectively respond to the needs of people and societies with professional and moral excellence. I believe that commitment, cooperation, relevance and excellence are the core organizational values that will enable APU to manage the winds of change and provide lasting beneficial contributions for a better world. Together, we can make a difference!
