Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda, H.E. Dr. Emile RWAMASIRABO visits APU

On Friday, December 19, 2008, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda, H.E. Dr. Emile RWAMASIRABO visited APU and enjoyed a chat with President Monte CASSIM.



During their talk, President CASSIM spoke of the African students studying at APU, the scholarship system, the content of lectures and of the education projects APU is involvement in, "I want us to become a bridge linking Japan and Africa". H.E. Dr. Emile RWAMASIRABO commented, "Our country wants to put its efforts into industries such as agriculture, tourism and ceramic handicrafts. Furthermore, we want to put our efforts into the education of our youth, especially higher education. I have a great interest in the initiatives of APU."

After their talk, H.E. Dr. Emile RWAMASIRABO inspected sites such as the cafeteria APU House -places where students spend their lives. This was the first visit and by a Republic of Rwanda Ambassador to APU and in the future we can expect a deepened cooperative relationship between APU and the Republic of Rwanda.

There are currently 58 students from 24 African countries and regions studying at APU who act as a bridge between Africa and APU. APU hopes to continue to accept African international students in the future.
