On April 1 and 2, 2009, thirteen high school principals and teaching staff from 9 schools representing Korea and Vietnam visited APU, enjoyed a talk with President CASSIM and viewed the campus.
This group of teaching staff come from top-class Korean and Vietnamese schools. Representing Vietnam were: Hanoi Amsterdam High School, Chu Van An High School, Thang Long High School, Viet Duc High School, Kim Lien High School, Yen Hoa High School, and from Korea, Gimpo Foreign Language High School and Anyang Foreign Language High School.
Every year many students from these schools receive scholarships and progress into prestigious overseas universities including the American Ivy-league. Graduates from all of these schools, excluding the newly-established Gimpo Foreign Language High School, are studying at APU.
On the 1st, ten principals from Vietnam met with the student circle Traidat which is researching agent-orange damage and which in 2008 received funding from the Toyota Foundation Grant Program –a first for university undergraduate students. Furthermore, on the 2nd, the entire group of teaching staff came along to the APU Entrance Ceremony.
The Vice Principal of Hanoi Amsterdam High School spoke of his expectations of APU, "Our students have a high awareness of studying in Japan and know of APU when it comes to studying in Japan".
