Multicultural Camp 2006

In order to promote cultural interaction and understanding amongst domestic and international students, a Multicultural Camp was held on Saturday November 11th and Sunday November 12th. A total of 79 students from 18 countries and regions participated in the two-day and one night camp.

The camp was planned and organized by 15 student camp leaders. The participants shared their culture and deepened their sense of exchange through sporting activities, hiking, and making curries over an open fire.

Day 1 (Saturday, Nov.11)
12:30 Gather at APU
13:15 Arrive at camp
13:30 Opening ceremony and explanation session
14:30 Ice breakers (exchange activities)
17:00 Dinner time (prepare curry together and eat)
20:00 Bath and free time
21:00 Group identity (Group activities)
22:00 Bed time

Day 2 (Sunday Nov. 12)
6:40 Wake up
7:10 Morning exercises (Estonian dance)
8:00 Breakfast
9:00 Leaving ceremony
9:15 Hike to Shidaka Lake
11:00 Arrive at Shidaka Lake
11:30 Camp ends
11:45 Leave Shidaka Lake
12:15 Arrive at APU

The camp theme was a "Multicultural Treasure Hunt". By the end of the camp, the participants were able to discover many a treasure through the "friends" they made while participating in the various camp activities.
