The APU Advisory Committee Reception was held in Fukuoka City on Monday, June 11th. Eighteen advisory committee members and two alumni executives gathered for the occasion. This reception in Fukuoka followed two other receptions held consecutively in Tokyo and Osaka.
During the reception, APU President Cassim talked about the New Challenge Plan, outlining APU's achievements as well as future endeavors including the development of a natural science curriculum.
On behalf of the Advisory Committee, Chairman of the Fukuoka Cultural Foundation, Mr. SHISHIMA Tsukasa said "APU is the most progressive university in Japan as its curriculum is striving to meet the demands of our ever-changing world. Its efforts are receiving recognition and praise from companies world wide. I hope that APU will continue in its endeavor to nurture globally-minded individuals and build on its favorable reputation."
Afterwards, the Chairman of Kyushu Railway Company, Mr. TANAKA Koji led the participants in a toast, which was followed by speeches by student representatives Ms. BAE Yeo Reum (APS4, Korea) and Ms. MATSUNO Hiroko (APM4, Japan). Ms. BAE said "I'm eager to work on the world stage. My dream is to become a global citizen not limited to working in just one country. I hope to become a person who can make a difference in the world."
The reception was concluded with a speech from Senior Advisor to The Ritsumeikan Trust, Mr. KAWAMOTO Hachiro, who expressed his sincere appreciation for the support received from various businesses in Kyushu and all over the world to establish APU. He called for further cooperation in making APU a university which will continue to meet the region's needs and contribute to international society.
