The 2nd Language and Culture Studies Tea Party held

On Wednesday October 15, 2008, the 2nd Language and Culture Studies (LCS) Tea Party was held in APU Classroom F108.


Third-year students of the LCS inaugural class, LCS faculty members, and autumn new entrants wanting to know more about LCS came along to at the party. In addition, APS Professor Joseph PROGLER, Education Development Study and Support Center Professor TAKANO Kenji, APS Professor KATO Masanori, and Head of the LCS Institute APS Associate Professor IGUCHI Yufu also participated. The party mixed with faculty members progressed in a warm atmosphere from start to finish as the participating students talked about extra curricular activities, APU life and, of course, the content of their lectures such as language and culture.

During the party Associate Professor IGUCHI introduced the LCS head professors and the content of the uniquely small student number classes of the LCS. The Indonesian Field Study planned for February 2009 was also explained, to which the participants listened intently.

The idea of the LCS tea party was though up by Head of the LCS Institute, Ms. FUJITA Kayoko and Head of the LCS Institute APS Associate Professor IGUCHI Yufu. The tea party, held for the second time, is aimed at LCS students. The tea party was established with the purpose of creating an opportunity to get the whole LCS group together to deepen exchange and create a sense of unity within the program. It is hoped that through the tea party the unity between the students and faculty staff of this Institute will become even stronger.
