Measures taken by the APU Library to Prevent Spread of the Novel Coronavirus (Updated August 4th, 2020)

APU Library Opening Hours

Opening hours from Monday, August 17 will be changed as shown below.
Non-Class day:10:00-18:00

(Cautionary Notes)

  • Please make sure you are wearing a mask before you enter the Library.
  • Please leave enough space (more than 2 meters) between yourself and other library users to prevent
  • It is possible to use the library for study purposes only.
  • Don't remain in the library for more than 1 hour.
  • Pangaea 1 – 3 and the Multi Media Room are currently closed.
  • Pangaea 7 is basically closed. However if you need to use this room, please ask the staff.

Use of the library will be restricted to 1 hour per person per day, during the designated slots shown below.

●We will clean and disinfect the building after the end of each slot, so please be sure to leave promptly by the end of the access period.

If you would like to use the library, you must input the survey below in advance with the date, time, student ID, your name. https://survey2.apu.ac.jp/limesurvey/index.php/811577?lang=en
Note that there is no response to the survey unless entering restriction occurs.
Please come to the library at the designated time you requested in the survey.

*Other Visitors
Those whose library cards identify them as “Library Friends” are not permitted to use the library at this time.

Extension of the Loan Period

「The spread of the novel coronavirus is once again reaching concerning levels, but this semester we will not be extending the due date for borrowed materials. 

If you do not return your borrowed materials by the due date you will be charged a late fee, so please make sure to return them by the due date.

1) The due date for the kinds of materials shown below is Wednesday, September 2, 2020.

① Undergraduate: All students in their 8th semester or above and those graduating in September 2020.
② Graduate: All Master’s students in their 4th semester or above and those completing the Intensive Program in September 2020.
All Ph.D. students in their 6th semester and above and those completing the Intensive Program in September 2020.
③ Others: Those who do not fall under the first two categories, whose student IDs expire on September 20th, 2020.

2) The due date for materials with an original return date between January 30 and October 11, 2020 is Monday, October 12.

Reference Counter Online Service

The APU Library will open Reference Counter Online Service to prevent infection with the coronavirus.
Our reference staff will help you find materials for your thesis and reports.
