On Wednesday, March 3, 2010, Dr. Rob PHAAL, a Senior Research Associate at the University of Cambridge Centre for Technology Management, delivered an RCAPS Seminar under the theme of "Strategic Roadmapping – Aligning technology, products and markets for strategy and innovation".

At the invitation of APM Professor NAMBA Masanori, Dr. PHAAL delivered a detailed presentation on strategic roadmapping and their applications for businesses and organisations.

On Wednesday, January 20, 2010, the Ritsumeikan Center for Asia Pacific Studies (RCAPS*) invited Animation International Ltd, Hong Kong Executive, Mr. KONDO Tsutomu to deliver a seminar under the title of "the Current State of the Animation Character Business in Asia".

Approximately eighty students and faculty members came along to hear about Mr. KONDO's fifteen years of experience in the anime industry.

On Saturday February 6th, RCAPS in cooperation with Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific Indonesia Society (APUIna), Indonesian Students' Association in Japan and the Indonesian Embassy held the 1st "Seminar of Indonesia".

The theme of the seminar is "Observing today's Indonesia, a Projection into the Future", which covers various current issues in the field of education, contemporary politics and gender empowerment.

On Friday January 22, a RCAPS sponsored seminar was held at APU.

The seminar welcomed Setsuko SHIBUYA, PhD (Adjunct Professor, Department of Cultural Anthropology, The University of Tokyo) to give a lecture titled, "Family and Jobs Outside of Agriculture: A Case Study in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam".

The 2009 Annual AP Conference was held at APU from December 12-13 under the theme of "Reflections on the Asia Pacific - Past, Present and Future".

The event featured keynote speakers from several countries - including the Philippines, America, Austria, and Japan - who presented diverse perspectives and in-depth analyses of important global issues. Conference participants also attended parallel sessions that showcased research currently being done at APU in the fields of information and communication technology, environment, education, society, finance, and tourism.
