On 22nd December 2018, an international symposium focusing on Vietnamese language and Vietnamese language research was held at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The symposium was jointly held by TDTU, the Australian National University (ANU), Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU), Kanda University of International Studies, Srinakharinwirot University (Thailand), University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and Seattle University.

Professor SUZUKI Yasushi of the College of International Management has co-authored a book entitled "Power, Property Rights, and Economic Development: The Case of Bangladesh” with Dr. Mohammad Dulal Miah. The latter, an alumnus of APU, is currently affiliated with the University of Nizwa (Oman). The book was published by Palgrave Macmillan, which prides itself as a global academic publishing company

"National Identity and Japanese Revisionism" has been published as the third book from "Routledge Studies on the Asia-Pacific Region" book series (Chief Editor-Professor Yochiro Sato, APS) by Routledge, a world renowned academic publisher. In this book, Dr. Dani Daigle Kida, a member of RCAPS affiliated Center for Democracy Promotion, RCAPS Visiting Research Fellow as well as APU Graduate School alumni, contributes a paper titled "Local Political Participation in Japan-A Case Study of Oita".
