On Thursday June the 5th 2008, 4 executive administrative directors from Chongqing University of Medical Science (CQMU), who started a one month special training program at the middle of May to learn about university administration at APU and Ritsumeikan University, held a debriefing session at APU to talk about the results of their training and the university system in China.

A seminar entitled "African Regional Industry Promotion" offered by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on the concept of the One Village One Product (OVOP) movement was held in APU from 24th March to 11th April 2008. APU welcomed 17 government officials from Africa for training in "Community Capacity and Rural Development for African Countries", and as part of this training, a group discussion was held on campus on Wednesday 9th April.

The "Regional Collaboration Research Consortium Oita" (hereafter, the Research Consortium), composed of 7 Universities (including the Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, APU) and Technical Colleges located in Oita Prefecture, was established on February 26, 2008.

Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University shall be holding the "2nd Kyushu Management of Technology Seminar for Local Manufacturers" as specified below. This seminar is the "AY2006 Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration Project (Industrial Technology Exchange and Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration Promotion Model Project) of the Kyushu Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry, and implemented together with the Kyushu Local Industry Activation Center.
