On Wednesday December 12th 2012, Dr. Mi-Young LEE, Professor of the Department of International Logistics, School of International Relations at Dongseo University in Busan, South Korea, was invited to present a Social Outreach Seminar entitled, “The Current Situation and Strategies of Global Logistics Corporations in Korea”
During his lecture, Dr. LEE not only spoke about the Korean global logistics corporations, but he also focused on the leading logistics enterprises all over the world. At the beginning of the presentation he summarized the characteristics of global logistics enterprise. Then he introduced the current development situation of the leading logistics enterprises in the world, including DHL, FedEx, TNT and UPS, and analyzed their competitiveness. After the introduction, Dr. LEE descibed the current situation of Korean logistics enterprises with a competitiveness analysis both of themselves and the world's leading logistics corporations. Following this, he focused on the strategies of CJ Koewx Express, GLOVIS, Pantos Logistics and CJ GLS, which are the major global logistics corporations from Korea. Furthermore, Dr LEE discussed the barrier for Korean logistics corporations to becoming a global cutting edge enterprises , and he also gave some suggestions related to the development strategies of corporations.
During the Q&A session following the seminar, the students took the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the topic in more depth. Dr. LEE’s lecture was a valuable seminar on global logistics. It was a good opportunity for the audience members who are interested in the field.
