New Academic Book by Professor Yasushi Suzuki

Professor SUZUKI Yasushi of the College of International Management has co-authored a book entitled "Power, Property Rights, and Economic Development: The Case of Bangladesh” with Dr. Mohammad Dulal Miah. The latter, an alumnus of APU, is currently affiliated with the University of Nizwa (Oman). The book was published by Palgrave Macmillan, which prides itself as a global academic publishing company

This book explores and elaborates on the intricate relationship between property rights and economic efficiency. It also highlights, through the case of Bangladesh, how the establishment of an irrational property rights system could be challenging to rectify due to the restrictions imposed by current political power structures.

Professor Suzuki has commented that he is delighted to be able to take what he has learnt from the research of Professor Khan (University of London) and continue this work together with Dulal. The foreword of the book was written by none other than the president of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU), Mr. Deguchi.
