Dr. Cooper’s faculty workshop for “Improving Your Chances of Publishing in High Impact Journals!!”

Dr. Malcolm Cooper, an APU Emeritus Professor will be conducting a 3-part workshop for faculty members on effective academic writing for researchers.

<First Session>

Date and Time:   October 30, 2019 (Wed) 16:00-19:00
Venue: 
 RCAPS Meeting Room A, Building B 2nd Floor
Contents: 
 The first workshop will outline and discuss the key to successful writing. It will focus on the purpose of academic writing and the art of writing.

<Second Session>

Date and Time:   November 27, 2019 (Wed) 16:00-19:00
Venue: 
 RCAPS Meeting Room A, Building B 2nd Floor
Contents: 
 The second workshop will cover the writing of papers and books from the viewpoint of creating the text structure. Workshop attendees will be shown how to use sources of information, analyze the information and turn it into one product, as well as the method with which to make outlines, structure papers and check your paper and so on.

<Third Session>

Date and Time:   January 15, 2020 (Wed) 16:00-19:00
Venue: 
 RCAPS Meeting Room A, Building B 2nd Floor
Contents: 
 The third Workshop will cover the following useful tips and tricks (tools):
-Do not ignore evidence which shows different results from your own.
-Make sure to base your work on evidence.
-Construct a logical order to make it easier for readers.
-Hedge your bets.
-Use appropriate tenses.
-Use tables, figures and charts wisely.
-Be careful with referencing and acknowledging sources.
-Be aware of unintentional plagiarism.
