Hirameki☆Tokimeki Science is a researcher-led program offered by researchers designed to offer experience-based activities to elementary, middle and high school students, so that they can learn about the fun of science in an easy-to-understand manner. It aims to convey the outcomes produced through Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI) and popularize KAKENHI. Since its launch in 2005, 1,350 institutions nationwide have offered the program, and approximately 75,000 elementary, middle and high school students have participated in the program (according to the 2016 survey).
Here at APU, a former professor of the College of International Management, NAKATA Yukihiko, has led the program since 2007 and held seminars mainly on the topic of “Japanese Manufacturing and International Management - From LCD Calculators to LCD TVs and Solar Cells.”
APU is not scheduled to hold the “Hirameki☆Tokimeki Science” program in AY 2017.
