On Tuesday, November 29, 2011, the Lasting Light Event Committee decorated the APU campus with the beautiful light of bamboo lanterns for the Lasting Light 2011 night festival.
Held every year since 2004, this event brings a magical light throughout the campus. Now in its 8th year, this year’s event was themed “Freedom” and featured bamboo lanterns arranged around the APU fountain decorated with brightly coloured glass marbles and plastic. Many students and staff came along to enjoy the spectacle of the warm and illusory light.
Event representative, YOKOTA Yuko (APS3, Japan) said, “This year we wanted to try and do something original and we experimented with all kinds of different light. Although preparing this event was tough with only a few group members, I am happy that the weather was good and I feel that we succeeded in creating an event that everyone could enjoy”.
