Have you ever heard of "sustainable fashion" or "ethical fashion"? These are the themes of APU Fashion Week 2016.
This event will give you a chance to think about what socially responsible and environmentally friendly fashion is, to think about where fashion comes from, and who makes it and why – taking you beyond clothing and fashion as a simple item and introducing fashion as a holistic concept.
Fashion Week is one of the most multicultural and diverse student organizations at APU. Our models and designers come from more than 20 countries and regions, with diverse cultural backgrounds. For the costumes appearing in the grand show, we used materials made from plants or plant fibers as well as upcycled clothes and accessories to showcase the concept of sustainable fashion.
We will also bring our fashion show to downtown Beppu to promote interaction between APU students and the local community. By holding this event near Beppu Station, we hope to deepen international understanding, encourage regional revitalization, and help people think more about sustainable fashion and how fashion influences our lives.
