Time/date Monday, July 7, 2014. - Friday, July 11, 2014.
Venue Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University
First day (July 7) Parade @ Fountain 12:10 - 12:25
Parade showcasing many Thai traditional performances, including Northern Thai traditional dance, a rice harvesting celebration show, a Thai marching song performance, fan dance and a final performance to show respect to His Majesty the King of Thailand.
Second day (July 8) Spicy Eating Contest @ APU Cafeteria 12:15 - 13:30
Candidates from many nationalities compete by eating Thai spicy food. The contest consists of three rounds. During the first round, the contestants have to eat the provided food within the time limit. In the second round, the contestants have to name the dishes according to their picture. During the final round, the finalists have to compete with each other by eating spicy food that we have prepared. Audiences can also enjoy these dishes.
Third day (July 9) Thai cultural class @ Classroom 12:25 - 14:00
An introduction to the culture, language and tourism of Thailand, for those who are interested in Thai culture, language and travel in Thailand.
Fourth day (July 10) Muay Thai Day @ Fountain 12:10 - 12:25
A contemporary show of Muay Thai, the internationally recognized martial arts style of Thailand, will be held at APU fountain.
* The show has been postponed to July 11th.
Fifth day (July 11) Grand performance “The Golden Sand” @ Millennium Hall 18:30 - 20:00
A stage play that represents Thai society after civilization. After Thailand becomes influenced by western culture, this is a story of a rural girl who sadly leaves her home and travels to Bangkok, becaming a maid in a huge mansion. A romantic comedy with many performances to collaborate with the story, all representing Thai culture. The audience can also experience the Thai sense of humor.

Welcome you all to Thai week 2014. This year we will turn APU campus into ‘The Land of Smiles’. Experiencing the bright and colorful Thai culture through out the week!
On Monday you can experience Thai traditional dances and many more at our grand opening parade at the fountain.
On Tuesday come enjoy the famous spicy eating contest at cafeteria! While cheering up your mates you can also try our delicious spicy dishes.
And for those who plan to travel to Thailand I suggest you to join our Thai Cultural Class on Wednesday, you will learn tip and trick on how to travel in Thailand. There will be free Thai desert provided as well!!
On Thursday, there will be an exotic Muay Thai performance at the fountain. Must see!
And lastly, on Friday, we have grand show! This year we proudly present a romantic comedy stage play that will bring you back to the 50s of Thailand, when the western culture influenced Thai society; created a new variety of Thai culture. Moreover, everyday at cafeteria you will get to try Thai food, deserts, try on traditional clothes and many more. So please don’t miss any of them! Let’s have fun together in Thai Week 2014.
