
Scholarship System for Study Abroad
Scholarships are provided by the Japanese government, foreign governments, and private organizations.
There are scholarships to apply to the university and scholarships to apply to each organization by the students themselves. Please check the application guidelines carefully before applying.
*The scholarships listed here are usually only offered to Japanese nationals or students permanently residing in Japan. Please check the application guidelines for each scholarship in advance. (For example, scholarships from JASSO and the TOBITATE Young Ambassador Program require applicants to be Japanese nationals or permanent residents.
*This page covers major scholarships for studying abroad only. For inquiries regarding other scholarships, including scholarships for studying at APU, please contact the Student Office.
1. Scholarship from Independent Administrative Institution Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO)
Student Exchange Support Program (under exchange agreements)
Only programs adopted by JASSO are eligible for support. Successful applicants of this scolarship can receive monthly benefit-type (no repayment) scholarships according to the program length.

Information on scholarships provided by foreign governments in cooperation with JASSO is posted on this webpage. Look over the webpage, and if the application needs to go through the university, be sure to bring your application documents to the Academic Office and consult with one of the Officers in Charge of Scholarships at least 10 days before the application deadline.
The university is not responsible for things like providing recruitment notifications or facilitating bulk applications, so be sure to confirm the information regarding recruitment and to carry out any necessary procedures on your own.

Gyomu Super Japan Dream Foundation: Study Abroad Scholarship Recruiting
Applications must go through the university. Please check the application guidelines on the Gyomu Super Japan Dream Foundation website and submit your application to the box in the Academic Office or send them by mail by the on campus application deadline.
