Contents: We have the honor of inviting UNITAR's Director of Division for Prosperity and Hiroshima Office,
Ms. Mihoko Kumamoto, to the APU online career session. This is an opportunity to listen to her speak about how she built her career up to now, how she made decisions on her career path, and what motivates her to work in the international organizations. For this seminar, we have secured enough time for a Q&A session so that the participating students can have direct talks.

<Speaker’s Profile>
Ms Kumamoto graduated in Psychology at West Virginia University. She obtained her Master’s Degree in International Affairs at Columbia University. She has been with the United Nations for 20 years. During those years, she worked in New York at the Bureau for Development Program of UNDP headquarters, the Vietnam Country Office, the Pacific Area Office in Samoa and the Indonesian Office. In 2014 she became Head of UNITAR's Hiroshima Office, and since July 2019, she is also UNITAR’s Director for the Division for Prosperity.
She is supporting Africa, Middle East, Asia and Pacific nations in different fields such as environmental issues including climate change adaptation, disaster prevention, gender, peacebuilding. Outside of working for the United Nations, she worked for 6 years in the Planning Section at Kyushu Electric Power Company.
