Interim Presentation by High School Future Visionary Vice Presidents and Summit Members Held

High School Student

On Sunday, October 26, APU hosted an interim presentation on campus by the High School Future Visionary Vice President and Summit Members. The purpose of this session was to share the progress the high school students are making on ongoing projects and hold in-depth discussions with President Yoneyama and other APU executives.

Leading up to the presentation, the high school students engaged in intensive discussions. Their report focused on the main theme of “relearning,” showcasing the ideas and insights they have explored so far. They shared findings from their field research, including what roles universities should play to expand opportunities for relearning, how to create systems that support working adults and multi-generational learning, and what sustainable, long-term learning environments could look like.

At the end of the session, President Yoneyama offered an encouraging message to the high school students: “Don’t be afraid to think boldly and creatively, even if your ideas are rough around the edges. I’m looking forward to your final presentation.”

Through their activities so far, the high school students have worked collaboratively, aligning their sense of purpose and conducting site visits and research. Moving forward, they will continue these investigations while working to clarify and define their project goals.
