On Thursday, March 26, 2026, High School Future Visionary Vice President and Summit Members held their final presentation on campus, sharing the outcomes of approximately one year’s worth of activities with school stakeholders and parents.
Throughout the year, the five members worked under the central theme of “relearning.” Guided by the perspective that universities should serve as spaces where people can continue learning at any stage of life, they engaged in detailed discussions and exploration of what an ideal learning environment should look like.
As their discussions progressed, they identified several key elements that define a university that people would want to return to. These included the promotion of intergenerational exchange, the creation of flexible environments where individuals can freely pursue their interests, and the implementation of collaborative and interactive learning styles.
During the final presentation, the students proposed a range of ideas, such as a system allowing learners to request courses they wish to take, initiatives to encourage intergenerational interaction, and mechanisms to lower the barriers to entrepreneurship. They also introduced concepts for support systems that empower individuals to take on challenges, foster environments where failure is accepted as part of learning and promote meaningful engagement across different age groups.
A defining feature of this initiative is that high school students, currently active participants in education, took the lead in envisioning what “relearning” could look like in the future. Over the course of a year of dialogue, field research, and collaborative work, they developed and presented diverse ideas rooted in their unique perspectives.
APU will continue to further develop the ideas proposed in this initiative and explore new models of universities that enable people of all generations to continue learning.
