On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, the third-term Future Visionary Vice President and Summit Members gathered at the APU campus for their appointment ceremony. During the ceremony, President Yoneyama formally presented each member with a letter of appointment and shared his expectations for their activities in the coming year.

The third-term Future Visionary Vice President and Summit Members will work on developing proposals to support the realization of APU’s Lifelong Learner Vision and its newly launched Global Learning Nexus Vision.

Following the ceremony, an interactive discussion session was held with President Yoneyama and APU vice presidents. Members exchanged views on lifelong learning, the role of universities as hubs that connect diverse people, communities, and societies, and how higher education institutions can continue to create value in a rapidly changing world.

The discussion also explored the possibility of establishing APU hubs in different countries around the world. Participants considered how alumni networks could be developed and leveraged to create social and business opportunities. Using their respective home countries as case studies, the members shared concrete ideas and discussed potential challenges and opportunities associated with building such networks.

Moving forward, the Future Visionary Vice President and Summit Members will further refine their activity themes, conduct interviews and research both within and outside the university, and deepen their discussions toward the development of policy proposals that will contribute to shaping APU’s future vision.
