On Sunday, June 7, 2026, the third-term Future Visionary Vice President and Summit Members gathered at the APU campus for an appointment ceremony and workshop.

During the ceremony, APU President Yoneyama formally presented each member with their letter of appointment.

Following the ceremony, the members participated in a workshop to exchange ideas and discuss themes for their activities throughout the year. Based on this year's recruitment theme, “Envisioning the ideal role of a university from the perspective of high school students who will live in the future society”, participants explored what the world might look like 20 to 30 years from now and discussed the roles universities should play and the types of learning environments that will be needed in the future.

In recent years, technological innovation, including the rapid spread of AI, and changes in social environments have accelerated dramatically, making it increasingly difficult to predict what the future will look like. Recognizing that the future may not simply be an extension of the present, President Yoneyama encouraged the members to think beyond existing frameworks and to envision the future through the unique and creative perspectives of high school students.

Over the coming months, the Future Visionary Vice President and Summit Members will deepen their discussions through interviews and research activities both within and outside the university, working toward the development of policy proposals to be presented later in the academic year.
