It’s now about 5 months since the press announcement on the 8th of June, and we have status updates coming in from the High School Student Future Visionary Vice President and Summit Members.
They have been working towards delivering their recommendations, devoting a lot of time to deliberating over choosing their theme carefully and especially on the action points that go with it, with weekly meetings and a camp-style intensive meeting held in Osaka in October.
The key words so far are “A Global and Local University”, “A University with Practical Courses” and “A University that Listens”.
With the presentation of their recommendations coming up in the New Year, they are pressing on with investigations and research that will further deepen their theme.
So, now it’s time to hear from each of our enthusiastic high school students!
Hi there! We are the Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University's Future Visionary Vice President &Summit Members!
We will be writing first-hand reports on our activities.
We hope you look forward to our updates!

We started our activities in June, but we are still working out how to move forward and getting know each other’s ideas. Having the freedom to take on unprecedented activities is exciting and challenging, but at the same time we are unsure of the future path we will create. However, there is one thing that has changed. Through the meetings we have had so far, we have been able to have a deeper dialogue, and the differences in the ideas and thoughts of each member have started to become more apparent. We will continue to work hard and search for ways to make the most of this unique opportunity!

We have regular meetings every Monday, where we share our thoughts on society and education with other members in the form of slides and mind maps. By sharing our opinions with each other from our unique views as high school students, the activities we want to put into practice in the future are gradually taking shape. We gain new perspectives every day, and our values towards society are constantly being updated, leading to our own personal growth. I hope that through continuous dialogue we can find our own answers as the five of us, and go on to have an impact in the world!

It has been about four months since our project began.
During these four months, I realized that coming up with something from the ground up is much more difficult than I had imagined. It may seem like a long time, but it has passed in a flash, and through our weekly meetings, I think we are gradually coming up with a plan for our activities.
From November onwards, I believe we will have opportunities to actually talk with others my age, as well as adults who are actually working in society. I am very much looking forward to the new developments we will create.
We appreciate your continued support!

From APU, we want to bring about change in the way university, education, and society works. It may seem like an endless goal, but at least I feel that this work is one good way to achieve this goal. And I hope that we talk not only with our own members, but have great conversations with many people to think about the ideal university, education, and society. Although I am still struggling with how to take action, I feel that it is time to put it into action in society! I have a hunch it’s going to be good, watch this space!

Since June we have been meeting every week, discussing working on a grand mission to “Change the Future of Education in Japan”. We have a lot of ideas, but not much action yet...but, recently, suddenly... I can see a ray of hope! Through an in-person camp in mid-October, our future plans have been slowly taking shape. This month will be getting a lot of creative things underway, using the perspectives we have because we are a team of five, like the STAR☆.
While we are faced with challenges, we are going full steam ahead towards the future!
