High School Student Future Visionary Vice President and Summit Members –Appointment Ceremony and Workshop-

High School Student

During the appointment ceremony, President Yoneyama encouraged the members, saying “I hope you will reflect on what a university means from a high school student’s perspective. As you engage directly with the university environment, I want you to generate ideas through your own lens.” He further emphasized that the opinions and proposals generated through this initiative would be taken seriously, and APU would actively work toward their realization.

Following the ceremony, a workshop was held using a method called “Future Language,” aimed at helping participants organize their thoughts in preparation for setting themes for future activities. This method involves envisioning an ideal future, identifying the gaps between that vision and the present, and considering how those gaps might be addressed. Lively discussions took place among participants on a wide range of ideas, including creating an environment where people can “learn continuously as life-long learners”. The session marked the beginning of the process to define the group’s main themes moving forward.

From here, the High School Future Visionary Vice President and Summit Members will begin full-scale activities, aiming to present policy proposals within the current academic year.
