High School Future Visionary Vice President and Summit Members Begin Discussions on the Theme of “Learning Continuously as Lifelong Learners”

In August 2025, the High School Future Visionary Vice President and Summit Members held discussions on this year’s designated theme, “Learning Continuously as Lifelong Learners,” and they began considering how to implement the concept in society.

The “Learning Continuously as Lifelong Learners” envisioned by the Future Visionary Vice President and Summit Members refers to providing continuous opportunities for people of various ages and backgrounds—including working professionals and those who previously had limited access to education—to revisit and explore their interests and fields of curiosity.

This time, the discussion focused on how to provide meaningful learning opportunities for working adults after they have gained professional experience. Alongside reviewing case studies from other universities, participants exchanged views on current challenges and potential future developments. During the discussion, emphasis was placed on the idea that although the ultimate goal is to realize an environment where people can learn continuously as lifelong learners, the essential prerequisite is that learning must take place in an environment where learners can genuinely feel they want to learn. The theory is that by creating such spaces, a natural willingness to re-learn will emerge in the future, forming a self-sustaining cycle.

Looking ahead, the members plan to consider visits to companies and organizations that are actively promoting recurrent education, with the aim of moving toward more concrete steps.
