Chinese Cultural Lectures at APU Confucius Institute

Jan 10, 2008

The APU Confucius Institute is offering Chinese cultural lectures this fall semester in order to introduce the politics, economics, society and culture of China to local Beppu residents.

On Friday 14th December, Mr. SUGITA Kinji, Head of the Chinese Division at Marubeni Corporation, gave a lecture entitled "Foreign Language Study and the Current State of Chinese Business".

Based on his many years of experience in Chinese business, Mr. Sugita talked about the differences between Japan and China's culture and national traits and the present condition of Chinese business, expressing that the recent sudden development of China's economy should be thought of objectively as a wonder, and not as a threat.

(Chinese Cultural Lectures are conducted in Japanese only).
