An APU student was selected to receive a Chinese Government Scholarship from Xiamen University

APU student, TAN Noel Peter Bengzon (APM 4,Philippine) who is planning to graduate from APU this September, has received a Chinese Government Scholarship and will pursue his graduate studies in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Xiamen University in Fujian Province, China from this autumn.The Chinese Government Scholarship is given to competent students around the globe who want to study or do research at a Chinese university and who pass the screening. This scholarship was established with the aim of deepening relationships and friendships between foreign students and Chinese citizens. More than 7000 students from over 150 countries have received this scholarship and have studied at 88 Chinese universities and graduate schools.

He expressed his achievement, "The scholarship will provide the opportunity not just to continue my interest in pursuing graduate studies but will also give me a chance to explore my Chinese heritage. My parents stated that poverty is not a hindrance to success, nor can it stop us from our passion to learn and pursue our dreams. I am thankful to a lot of people and institutions that have trusted me and have inspired me although there were hardships until now. I will continue to do my best".
