YTB Lab
Creating a fashion show that integrates the beauty of traditional attire with contemporary social issues

What is YTB Lab?

YTB Lab is a project that creates a future-oriented traditional attire show by honoring the stories and cultural value embedded in traditional clothing from around the world, while fusing them with modern fashion through upcycling practices. By combining the creativity of students from diverse national and cultural backgrounds with the knowledge of working professionals engaged in addressing social issues, the project challenges itself to generate new value unique to APU.

Workshop

On Thursday, January 8, and Friday, January 9, a two-day workshop using a loom and recycled banners was held at the APU Cafeteria. During the event, participants experienced weaving fabric that could be used as part of traditional attire by repurposing banners and reusing them as thread. Together with the participants, the workshop challenged the idea of creating traditional clothing from discarded materials, offering an opportunity to explore the potential of upcycling and experience the creativity and enjoyment of making things by hand.
