On December 12, 2025, Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) and the Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech) co-hosted their first-ever joint press briefing at Daimyo Conference in Fukuoka City. The event aimed to share with media representatives the achievements from the first year of collaboration and future outlook of both universities’ initiatives to create social value through cooperation among people from diverse backgrounds as well as to deepen understanding of the potential of inter-university partnerships.
In Part 1, Kyutech President Mitani and APU President Yoneyama each introduced recent developments and future directions at their respective universities. This was followed by an overview of the Social Impact (SI) Project from the administrative offices and short pitches by students from both universities who have engaged in practical initiatives addressing social issues through SI-related activities. A lively talk session featuring Kyutech Vice President Mizui and APU Vice President Shinoda explored how learning has evolved through this year of collaboration and the social impact generated across industry, academia, and government. The session served as an interactive platform for discussion among the universities’ presidents, media representatives, and students.
Part 2 featured a networking reception, offering participants an opportunity to strengthen connections and discuss ways to further enhance collaboration moving forward.
Both universities remain committed to combining their strengths and continuing the challenge of delivering social impact from Japan to the world.
