What is the Private University Branding Project?

Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University has been selected to receive funding support from the AY2018 Private University Research Branding Program (Type B) under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). The purpose of the Private University Research Branding Program is to facilitate research carried out by private universities. Said research should endeavor to showcase the university’s uniqueness and in doing so, create an appropriate brand identity for the university under the leadership of its president. More specifically, type B projects should engage in activities that contribute to nationwide or global economic/social development or the advancement of scientific technologies through establishing cutting-edge and interdisciplinary research centers.

    Remarks from President Deguchi Haruaki

I am extremely pleased to see APU selected for this project. I believe this will be a significant boost to the education and research of Inclusive Leadership that will support the APU2030 Vision: APU graduates possess the power to change the world. The most important aspect of being selected for this project is that our students and faculty will be stimulated to work harder and local community will also celebrate. By enhancing APU’s local and global reputation, I hope we will be better able to contribute to national and worldwide development while empowering local stakeholders in Beppu and Oita. I will be giving concrete directions for progression and doing my utmost to help this program reach its objectives.
