An environment where you can experience and practice diverse languages and cultures.
Learning at APU extends beyond the classroom. We offer practical, hands-on educational opportunities that go beyond traditional classroom settings.
Language Education at CLE
At the Center for Language Education (CLE), students can study eight different languages, including Japanese and English. Each course is carefully designed with level-based class placement, small class sizes, active learnings such as group work and presentations, and other features to enhance learning. In addition, CLE leverages APU’s multicultural and collaborative campus environment to provide students with practical, real-world language learning experiences. Furthermore, those who wish may receive support from faculty members and student staff at the Self-Access Learning Center, allowing them to strengthen and further develop their own learning.

In the Japanese courses, classes are offered for learners at various levels, including those with no prior experience in studying Japanese. Students not only acquire the Japanese language skills necessary for student life in Japan, but also develop the ability to use Japanese effectively in diverse contexts. Learning Japanese—then beyond. Here, you will find an environment that expands your potential.

APU offers a wide range of English courses designed to develop language proficiency, intercultural understanding, and autonomous learning skills.
With experienced instructors delivering highly interactive and engaging lessons, students collaborate with peers and study intensively to steadily improve their English abilities.
Learning English at APU will be an unforgettable experience.

You can learn six languages: Chinese, Korean, Malay-Indonesian, Spanish, Thai, and Vietnamese.
With many international students and faculty who are native speakers of these languages on campus, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to practice and develop your skills through real-life communication.
