This event has concluded.

Abstract:

In commemoration of their 50th anniversary, the Japan Center for Economic Research (JCER), a leading research institute in Japan, launched a major research project called “World Economic Map in 2050”, which resulted in the delivery of a research report of “Vision 2050” on May 31, 2013. APU was given an opportunity to be briefed by its principal author, Mr Sumio Saruyama, Principal Economist, JCER. If you are interested in the endogenous growth model or the general direction of the future world economy, this would be an excellent opportunity to update your knowledge on these topics. The seminar will be held at 17:00 on the 5th of August 2013 in the RCAPS Conference Room for 90 minutes. Your active participation would be very much appreciated.

About the Lecturer:

A 1983 graduate of the University of Tokyo, Mr Saruyama joined Nihon Keizai Shinbun, where he was primarily involved in macro-economic forecasting and also input/output table analysis. In 2005, he became a principal economist at JCER and currently holds the position of Research Director cum Principal Economist. He has published numerous books and articles associated with socio-economic issues facing current Japan and the world.

The seminar will be facilitated by Prof. Tsukada, APS.
