Inclusive Leadership: A critical agenda for research and practice

  1. SARGENT, Leisa,UNSW Business School, Australia
Through a 30-year review of inclusive leadership literature, Prof. Sargent examines our understandings of the risks and opportunities we face, especially those associated with COVID-19 and social movements such as #Me Too and Black Lives Matter. Building off examples from Australia she explains inclusive leadership through the lens of multiple theories, the current situation, and how the field of research might change going forward. She also provides questions to prompt inclusive leadership practices in organizations, relationships, and discourses for a practical approach to encouraging inclusive leadership. She concludes with a message for higher education: we hold a privileged position in society and must play an important role to build a sustainable, inclusive future.
