After a two-year hiatus, Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) burst into a celebration of diversity with Inclusion Week 2024, held from May 13th to 17th. Under the theme "One World, Many Stories," the campus transformed into a vibrant tapestry of cultures, abilities, and talents, showcasing the rich diversity that defines APU's global community.

The week started with an electrifying opening parade, featuring dazzling performances by student clubs that set the tone for the days to come. What followed was a whirlwind of events that captivated and educated in equal measure: a thought-provoking movie night sparked discussions on self-acceptance; Diverse Abilities Day, supported by Omron Taiyo Co., Ltd. and Sony Taiyo Co., Ltd., offered more than 125 students an immersive experience in wheelchair navigation and sign language; moving on to our grandshow event, APU's Got Talent, the largest to date, amazed audiences with fifteen spectacular acts; and the week culminated in an interactive Game Fest that brought the community together through play and creativity.

Each event served as a powerful reminder of our strength in unity and the importance of embracing our differences. From the special video message by APU President Yoneyama-sensei to the enthusiastic participation of students from various nationalities, Inclusion Week 2024 served as a testament to APU's commitment to fostering a truly inclusive campus.

As evident from the entire week's activities, the spirit of Inclusion Week is rooted in partnership and community. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who participated, contributed, and supported the events throughout the week. It couldn't have happened without the dedication and enthusiasm of our students, staff, and partners. We hope that this week has sparked a renewed commitment to inclusivity and has ignited a passion for celebrating our differences. Let us continue to build a campus where every story is heard, every background is respected, and every individual is valued.

Inclusion Week 2024 was more than just a series of events; it was a celebration of our shared humanity. It served as a reminder that our strength lies in our unity and the myriad of stories we bring to the table. We look forward to continuing this tradition and making APU an even more inclusive and welcoming place for all.
