Start of Postal Mail Lending Services

Due to the ongoing impact of Covid-19, there are a number of users who are unable to visit the library. Especially for those who are in the process of writing their theses, we would like to begin using postal services for lending and returning items, as outlined below. Currently, library users will be responsible for the corresponding postal fees.

  1. Service Contents
    Borrowing and returning library materials via postal services.
  2. Eligibility
    ・Intended for undergraduate students in their final semester and those in the process of writing their graduate theses.
    ・Among graduate students, intended for those writing their final theses or doctoral dissertation theses.
  3. Borrowing Limits
    Undergraduate and graduate students will have an upper limit of 10 materials.
  4. Service Area / Usage Fees
    Materials will be mailed to addresses in Japan only. Users are responsible for all postal fees. Materials located in “APU Library” will be mailed.Usage Fee approximation: 1,500 yen for 10 materials (in the case of sending something from Oita to Kyoto.)
  5. Returns
    Users will mail back the materials via post, ensuring they arrive by the due date
    ※The lending period will incorporate the postal period for borrowing and returning (approximately 4-5 days for a round trip). If returns are late, overdue fees will be treated the same as regular loans.
  6. How to Apply
    If you wish to get materials through our postal mail lending service, please go to the “Reserve/Requests” screen on MyLibrary, and select “Post (APU).”
