APU Hosts Global 4 Research Support Training Session

On Friday, January 13, 2017, a research support training session for members of the Global 4 universities was held at APU. ‘Global 4’ refers to Akita International University, International Christian University, Sophia University, and APU.

A special guest speaker, Noguchi Yoshifumi, the Director of the Division of Research at Ritsumeikan University, was invited to talk to representatives of the Global 4. He discussed the basic stance that employees involved in research promotion should assume while introducing initiatives that Ritsumeikan University has undertaken to secure more grant-in-aid funding. He also talked about industry-university cooperation in the humanities and social sciences.

After the lecture, the participants shared information on the issues each of their universities faces. Overall, the training session served as an excellent opportunity to think about how to approach research support work going forward.
