On Friday, February 27, 2017, a meeting of the West Japan Block 2 External Evaluation Committee for the Go Global Japan Project (“GGJ”), which APU was awarded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in AY2012, was held in the RCAPS Conference Room. The meeting was convened by the GGJ West Japan Block 2, whose members are the six GGJ universities in the Kyushu-Yamaguchi region (University of Kitakyushu, Kyushu University, Nagasaki University, Yamaguchi University, Yamaguchi Prefectural University, and APU).
With this academic year marking the final year of the GGJ Project, the meeting featured an external evaluation and a mutual evaluation of the six universities’ initiatives. The aim of the session was for the six universities to share their accomplishments and challenges from the past five years and apply these to their respective post-GGJ initiatives. Professor YOSHITAKE Hiromichi from the Faculty of Business Sciences at the University of Tsukuba and Professor MIYAHARA Akira from the Division of Foreign Languages in the Department of Literature at Seinan Gakuin University were invited to serve as the external evaluators. Together with the representatives from six universities, they engaged in a vigorous discussion on future challenges and possibilities that each institution faces.
