ON Wednesday, December 12, 2018. This project was designed as a successor to APU Night, which was implemented by faculty and staff until AY 2016. In this project faculty and staff gather together to share their vision, discuss university issues, and share information with each other. The first meeting was organized by IPG and implemented as shown above.
The 1st APU OWL was implemented as FD Day, which is a training results sharing session usually held in December or January for instructors who participating in the Minnesota FD Program. The reporting faculty gave presentations on the teaching methods they had learned from the workshops and class observations held during their September visit to the University of Minnesota, and how they could implement the knowledge gained through their yearlong participation in the Program in the courses they are currently teaching.
Many of the participants in this activity had been part of the Minnesota program in previous years, and we received comments that it was a good opportunity to see how other instructors were making use of the approaches they learned. Staff commented that it was a valuable opportunity to understand how faculty are preparing for and conducting classes on a daily basis.
