On Wednesday, September 7, 2016, faculty and staff attended a report on APU's accreditation by AACSB.1, 2 President KORENAGA Shun led the session by talking about the significance of AACSB accreditation.
Next, Professor OTAKE Toshitsugu, the Dean of the College of International Management (APM) and the Graduate School of Management (GSM), explained the actions that will need to be taken to maintain accreditation. He explained that not only will existing educational systems need to be maintained, but that APM and GSM are expected to undertake continuous improvement in three key areas: (1) the strategic management of APM and GSM, (2), the maintenance of world-class faculty, and (3) assurance of learning. Finally, he touched on what each faculty member will need to keep in mind when performing their respective duties.
1.AACSB, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, is one of the most influential business school accreditation agencies in the world. Established in the United States in 1916, it engages in activities aimed at advancing business education and research around the world.
2.APU received AACSB accreditation in August 2016. This accreditation certifies APU's business schools (APM and GSM) as providers of world-class business education.
