Professor Malcolm Cooper and Patricia J Erfurt-Cooper's book, "HEALTH AND WELLNESS TOURISM Spas and Hot Springs" was recently published.
The use of natural thermal springs in the treatment of illness and the promotion of wellness (thermalism, balneology) forms the foundation for a discussion of the development and growth of health and wellness tourism in this book. A range of perspectives are explored, including usage, heritage, management, technology, environmental and cultural features, and marketing.
"River Tourism" edited by Malcolm Cooper and Bruce Prideaux was recently published.
Rivers constitute a major tourism resource; providing spectacular settings, recreation facilities, a means of transport and a sense of heritage, adventure, and links with the environment and natural world. River tourism accounts for a significant proportion of the world's tourism consumption; including Nile cruises and rafting holidays for example. This makes it an economically important area of tourism, worthy of in-depth analysis. This book explores aspects of river-based tourism from a range of perspectives, including tourism uses, heritage, management, environmental concerns and marketing of river tourism. It will be a useful resource for students and researchers of leisure and tourism.
RCAPS Seminar will be held on May 11th (Monday)
