Reason Why You Decided to Apply
I decided to join this program because I wanted to make more friends during my university life with whom I could communicate and have discussions, regardless of their nationality. After entering university, I regretted not having the courage to talk to international students. Through participating in this program, I hoped to overcome that regret by actively speaking with many people to achieve the program goals, and to avoid missing any chances for interaction in my school life. Joining the FIRST program was my first step toward achieving this goal.
How the Program Helped You Grow
What I gained from this program is the ability to make decisions and communicate them effectively. As a group leader, I found it challenging to make flexible decisions in unexpected situations, such as language barriers, and clearly convey them to all members. Through the daily fieldwork in the program, I learned to clarify what needed to be done and gradually built these skills. I hope to apply these abilities in my school life by making my own decisions when facing new challenges and by working effectively with others in group activities.
Message for Students Interested in The Program
Many students who are considering joining this program may want to take a step forward. Before participating, I was worried about working on tasks with teammates I had never met before in a country where I could not fully communicate due to language barriers. However, after joining the program, I can confidently say that it was truly worthwhile to participate. To seize the many opportunities to meet new people during your life at APU, I strongly recommend you to join this program!
