Program: (APM)Coexistence with Stakeholders in the Soy Sauce Industry
Instructor: SHIGEMOTO Akiko
Reasons for Participating in the Program

While studying at APU, I wanted to go beyond classes offered in my home college, APS, and challenge myself with more practical and in-depth learning. Although my interest in marketing had grown, I lacked confidence in how to apply it in real situations and produce tangible outcomes. I was attracted by this program because it offers the opportunity to directly learn about the Japanese soy sauce industry, understand its challenges, and develop proposals. As an international student from a different college, I believed this would be a valuable experience, which led me to apply.

How the Program Helped You Grow

Through this program, I was able to visit the field and hear directly from industry professionals, gaining a deeper understanding of real-world challenges. By continuously discussing possible solutions with other participants, I developed confidence in expressing my ideas and learned the importance of collaboration. I also gained practical insights into business perspectives and professional manners when interacting with industry stakeholders. Moving forward, I hope to apply this experience to approach problem-solving in a more concrete and refined way in my studies and future career.

Message for Students Interested in The Program

I believe this program is a valuable opportunity to apply what you have learned in a real-world setting and gain practical experience. It will be an opportunity for APM students to apply what they have learned so far, while for students from other colleges, it offers a chance to gain new perspectives and take on new challenges. Personally, I felt the greatest sense of achievement through this program. Challenge yourself to take part in an experience where you can contribute to the local community by making use of your own knowledge and experience.
