Program: (APS) Contemporary Social Theory – Thinking about “Coexistence”
Instructor: SEIKE Kumi
Reasons for Participating in the Program
It is because I wanted to deepen the learning that I am accumulating in my professional exercises (seminars). I am usually working in Professor Seike's seminar to write my thesis on "What beauty is in the philosopher Immanuel Kant", and professor told me that the Research Project program will cultivate my ability to "refine my questions". I applied for this program because I would like to develop my ability to ask and refine questions not only for writing my thesis, but also for various problems that I will encounter in my life.
How the Program Helped You Grow
Through the on-site classes and practical work, we were first able to think deeply about " coexistence. In addition, because we had to think about " coexistence" not from literature or articles, but from the words of lecturers based on their long experience in the field, we were able to have a "live experience" that was different from our undergraduate studies, and this experience enabled us to think concretely about various abstract matters that we dealt with during our undergraduate studies. I believe that this ability is also connected to "refining questions.
