HKBU is a research-led public institution and ranked 23rd in QS Top 50 under 50 in 2021 and 64th in QS Asia University Rankings 2024. Our 7 academic units include Arts, Business, Communication, Creative Arts, Science, Social Sciences and Chinese Medicine. The medium of instruction is English. Transdisciplinary research and academic development remain one of our top agenda items, focusing on four strategic research clusters: Creative Media/ Practice, Health and Drug Discovery, Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence in X, and Humanities and Cultures.
