On September 28, 2016, a panel discussion for the faculty and staff of APU was held to report on APU acquiring accreditation from AACSB International1 in August 2016. At this session, the College of International Management (APM) and the Graduate School of Management (GSM) faculty who were pivotal in helping APU acquire AACSB accreditation took turns commenting on the roles they played in the process in a panel discussion-style format. APU alumnus ISHIKAWA Kana (College of Asia Pacific Management2, 2008 Spring, Japan) and Mr. TAKITA Hiroyuki, President of Oita Paper Products Co., Ltd. and former GCEP3 student, discussed the value of accreditation and offered their feedback as two outside stakeholders who participated in the accreditation process.
In the latter half of the session, Professor OTAKE Toshitsugu, Dean of APM and GSM, explained the challenges the college and graduate school must tackle for their quality improvement ahead of the accreditation renewal screening scheduled for 2021. He ended by asking everyone in attendance for their cooperation in making APU one of the world’s premier international universities.
