Majors and Minors

Students can choose undeclared, major only, or major and minor. If you choose to major and minor, and you have obtained the specified number of credits from the subjects assigned to each Area of Study, both Areas of Study will appear on your diploma.

Learning Goals and Learning Objectives

APM offers a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). The program is designed to achieve the four Learning Goals, each of which has its own specific Learning Objectives. These were developed in alignment with Declaration of the Occasion of the Opening of APU and the Mission of APM.Learning Goals indicate the ideal characteristics that APM hopes students to have acquired by the time they complete their degrees. Learning Objectives further clarify more specific abilities students should acquire.

  1. (1) Business Ethics & Social Responsibility
    • a. To understand the principles of business ethics and social responsibility.
    • b. To demonstrate ability to make professional decisions by applying the principles of business ethics and social responsibility.
    • c. To analyze ethical problems and propose practical solutions.
  2. (2) Key Management Knowledge and Skills
    • a. To demonstrate an understanding of key functional business and management concepts.
    • b. To demonstrate a professional level of communication proficiency in writing, oral presentation, and negotiation.
    • c. To apply appropriate analytical tools (qualitative and/or quantitative) to examine business problems.
    • d. To apply critical thinking and creativity in diagnosing problems and generating strategic and sustainable solutions.
  3. (3) Multiculturalism, Diversity and Inclusion
    • a. To demonstrate understanding and recognition of the importance of diversity and inclusion
    • b. To collaborate and communicate effectively in a multicultural team environment.
    • c. To demonstrate competency in at least one second language for cross- cultural understanding and competence.
  4. (4) Global Perspectives
    • a. To demonstrate a global outlook and understand today's business in Asia Pacific and the world.
    • b. To illustrate environmental, social, governance, and economic forces that shape business in Asia Pacific.
    • c. To analyze business opportunities and challenges from a global perspective.

Curriculum Alignment Matrices (CAM)

APM utilizes Curriculum Alignment Matrices (CAM) to give an overview of the expectations for what students should learn in each subject within the APM program. The left-most row of the matrix indicates the given subjects. Enlisted in the upper columns of the matrix are the thirteen Learning Objectives and four Learning Goals they are aligned with.
